We are brushing up on our math skills this summer with a Family Math Package from A+ Interactive Math (by A+ TutorSoft Inc.)
A+ Interactive Math is a Great Fit For Large Families
We are constantly moving between four desktop computers and two working rooms in our home. What we needed was a math program we could access from any computer with any student. A program that does this would destroy one of the obstacles that was making math difficult to streamline in our large family school day.
A+ Interactive Math is our answer, it is an online program, so access is granted per user on any device. This works for us because with seven students we have to rotate devices between two class grades each day.
Priced With Families in Mind
One of the greatest things about the family math package from A+ interactive math is the price it is currently $79 for one student and $149 for any number of students after that. As a large family often times cost is the thing that prohibits us from trying a new program or using tools we would really like, but cannot afford when we multiply the cost per student. I have to thank the makers A+ Interactive Math for providing a digital program that is accessible to everyone. It is literally the cost of one student math package that I paid for last year.
Track Each Student From Your Dashboard
Each student in the Family Math Package and their Adaptive Math Program is assigned a grade level. In the Adaptive Math Curriculum Online, students then take a mini-test and and if they have gaps in that concept the program will create a lesson plan. The video lessons and worksheets are actually the same in both programs. The difference is that in the Adaptive Program the students are only given the lessons for that concept or unit that they didn’t meet goal offer. Then, as they progress through the math program adjusts the difficulty level to fit the individual student.
The program I reviewed is the “>Family Math Package which does not have a pretest but you assign each student a grade level for them to begin in . If you find there is a problem and your child is above or below their assigned grade level you can simply access the parent dashboard and change their grade level with a click so no one is at risk of being stuck and frustrated or zooming through without being challenged.
A Little Parent Guidance to Start is a Great Idea
I will say the program is a little more hands-on as a parent than I was prepared for the student dashboard is a little bit tricky to understand.
You have to open files on the left-hand side by clicking the plus button to expand my younger children like to click buttons, so this was a problem. Also when submitting answers in the tests and quizzes; there is a little frog they must click to submit their answers before moving to the next question. This was a step they failed to activate and had to redo some quizzes because of that. With a simple heads up or reading the tutorial these problems are quickly bypassed.
Every student goes over the same math facts in the table of contents at their grade level this is excellent. If you are working with multiple students, you can pace your day to cover the same material’s making review and group instruction an actual possibility.
Tests and Quizzes are included in each lesson
The results are recorded in the Parent Dashboard. They are printable and easy to access and make changes to if a child wants to redo a score. All of this helps you to make sure your child is actually progressing.
Printables & Practice Work
There are also Work Sheets for every lesson so you can have printed pages for practice or for your records if you like. Over all this makes A+ TutorSoft’s Interactive Math a great value and a strong program with a lot of active choices you can use with one or with many students.
