Keeping Peace As Summer Wrecks Your Routine

Summer is sporadic, chaotic and off-balance with ten kids at home and little desire to keep them occupied. Every Morning is different and the lack of routine gets me agitated.
How do I keep balanced, even when Summer is kicking the tar out of me?
I carve out quite time every day. The trick is how I do it.
I have a regular Bible study on hand at all times.
In fact I have two. [Tweet “Summer is a great time to throw guilt out the window”]So during summer I make time to revisit old SheReadsTruth study guides that might not have gotten filled in all the way. On high pressure days I can review a lesson I’ve already filled in and search for a hidden nugget. On days when I have my full brain firing in action, I dig into a new chapter and really go in depth.
I knew I was saving these for just the right time and summer is it. Don’t have a guide? I picked up this guide for the Book of Proverbs while it was on sale. There are always older guides that they are marking down to make room for the new.
I love the SheReadTruth app, but I am a paper girl.
I’m also extremely frugal so $24 for a bible study did seem steep to me. Having bought the “Women of the Word” study as a gift for my Mother and sister last year, I can say it was worth every penny. I am a graphic designer and a total paper enthusiast. I love the weight, look and feel of the entire study. As a guide it is just that. A guide. There is plenty of space to add your own thoughts and personal reflections.
Need some sanity this Summer?
Pick up an unfinished Bible Study or two and set aside 20 minutes every morning to reflect or dig a little deeper.
Should you have and extra $5, order a set of scripture memory cards. The waxed business sized cards are a visual treat as well as an ideal way to get the word of God into your heart.
Don’t let Summer get you off kilter. Fight to keep your peace. You will be glad you did.
Blessings, Amber
