What do you think of the word “Tension”?

Several books I have read in the last year have used “Tension” as a term to describe a reaction to a challenging concept. I think it a great descriptive for the prep work God does on the inside of us. The stirrings of coming change.
Have you felt tension in your soul?
I have. In just this last year there has been a shift like a dam has broke. This wrestling inside of me. Churning like waters impatient to breach the banks, but I had no idea what direction I was going to go or how. I just knew that God wanted something more for me in this moment in my life. I wanted something more. So I began to seek Him. Pray and praise and talk to Him. I dug deeper in my reading and quiet times and Study groups. The stirring rose to the level I would call agitation.

I have walked this path with God a long time. I have said yes to the wrong thing many times before. I have rushed answers and solved my own problems for many years, but in doing so I have learned the one thing I can do is to listen and wait.
I have learned to trust that the object God desires for me will make itself known as I seek Him.
When God stirs a new idea into your heart; whether He confronts you with an unexposed flaw, opens a door to an unknown world, or invites you to a deeper walk, tension is often a precursor.
Water is just water, all day long, but apply a little tension, a little friction, a little heat to get those molecules moving around and plain water busts out of the glass. It escapes all its past limitations and becomes vapor. That vapor escapes the laws that bound water. You are not bound to anything but what God says you are. God friction changes us to the very molecules instilling life into every single one. Tension often leads to change in our lives. Change God desires to give you.
Agitation is not always a bad thing. Friction can break off the false, the worthless and vain. Leaving us fresh to serve God in a new level of truth and grace.
Pressure does not always have to crush you, it can strengthen you. It can drive you to dig deeper, pour out more and chase bigger dreams.
Let us not step back from things that stir us up. Let God convict your heart. Cry out to Him when you do not understand and seek Him when you know that He is calling you deeper.
He has an answer for you and it is not to stay the same as you were. We may be just a vapor in this life but vapor is water with tension. Vapor reaches where water never imagined. Gods desire is to change you from the inside out and bring you to a place you never imagined. It is hard, there is pressure, tension, agitation and don’t let any one tell you otherwise, but to live beyond where you ever believed you would is glorious. To share in this divine love and hope is beyond anything I ever imagined.
Open you Bible and get to know who God is and ask Him what He thinks about you, read it and let it change you. Let it change everything.
